One lawn, start to finish

Signs your lawn needs it
Spongy underfoot
Thatch has built up between the grass and the soil.
Thin or patchy
It isn't filling in, even with watering and mowing.
Water runs off
The soil is compacted so water doesn't soak in.
Bumpy and uneven
Hollows and high spots that scalp when mown.
Brown after mowing
The green sits high on dead runners.
Weeds moving in
They take over wherever the grass is weak.
What we do
Scarifying
Cuts out dead runners and thatch so water, air and fertiliser reach the roots. It looks rough for a short while, which is normal.
Core aeration
Pulls plugs of soil to relieve compaction. Water soaks in and roots grow deeper.
Top dressing
Fills the coring holes and hollows and levels the lawn. The runners grow up through it.
Feeding & aftercare
Fertiliser to get it going, and watering and mowing advice for the next few weeks.
Not every lawn needs all four. We'll tell you what yours needs.
Common questions
When is the best time to renovate?
Mid spring to early summer for couch, kikuyu and buffalo, while they're actively growing. In winter they're dormant and won't recover until it warms up.
How long until it looks good again?
With regular watering, most lawns are green and filling in within a few weeks.
Do I need all of it, or just one part?
Spongy lawns need scarifying, hard soil needs coring, and bumpy or thin lawns need top dressing. We'll look and tell you.
How much does it cost?
It depends on size, condition and access, so every job is quoted. Quotes are free.
Do I need to be home?
No, as long as we can get into the yard.
Where do you work?
Adelaide's northern suburbs, including the Salisbury and Tea Tree Gully areas. Not sure if you're in our area? Give us a call.
